The year is around 2016 if I recall. I was a wee lad obsessed with this online game called Roblox. In the image next to this post, you will see my avatar around that time. Anyways, back then robux (the in-game currency) was basically the same as a real US dollar bill, everyone wanted it! So, with that context, I was messaged on the direct messaging function of the game by some random account asking me if I wanted free robux. I’m going to be honest at the time; I knew it was definitely a scam, but for some reason in my little brain, I decided, “hey this may be legit”. So, he simply asked for my information, and he hacked my account and I was freaking out since I did have some expensive things on there. I even messaged Roblox directly, like BEGGING, for my account back, and I did get it back! It was over in a day, but I learned that even if your super cautious on your things, your brain can really be dumb sometimes, no matter how much you prepare, stuff like that can occur and just mess up everything, like misplacing your wallet. I feel the way to counter this is to just learn, it’ll happen to someone eventually and you just have to learn, it’s not like a scam call or an email where you just don’t reply, it’s a friendly message that can just turn south really quick.
